We had a great dinosaur theme party to celebrate his 4th birthday. Some items like the inflatable dinosaurs were brought from the States last summer, others were prepared a week earlier using ideas from various websites. It was a “Mom & Kids Party” and the main attraction were the cake pops, with ingredients also brought from the States. We set up two bowls of white chocolate and milk chocolate for the moms to dip the cake balls in, and the kids got to add their choice of sprinkles. The birthday cake was supposed to be an erupting volcano, but I couldn’t find dry ice in Lagos. I bet it would have been cool. We arranged for our son’s best friends to entertain him at their place so we could decorate the place. When he walked in, with eyes closed, and everyone shouted “Surprise!” His eyes grew big as he looked around, at all the guests, the balloon and dinosaur decorations, and exclaimed “Awesome!”
